Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Komvo, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with BuilderLevel, our construction-management platform, including the BuilderLevel website, the web app at app.builderlevel.com, the BuilderLevel mobile apps for iOS and Android, and related services (together, the “Service”). BuilderLevel is a product of Komvo, LLC. It is a business tool used by home builders and general contractors to manage projects, budgets, schedules, selections, files, and communications with their teams, trade partners, and clients.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who this Policy covers

BuilderLevel is primarily a business-to-business service. Depending on your role you may be an account holder (a builder or contractor organization and its team members), or a project participant invited to a project (such as a trade partner or a homeowner client). This Policy applies to all of them. Where a builder organization uses BuilderLevel to process information about its own clients and trade partners, that organization is responsible for its own privacy practices and controls its project records; we process that information on its behalf.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, job title, organization name, and role.
  • Project and business content: the information you enter or upload to run your projects: project details, budgets and accounting codes, schedules, specifications and selections, bids, change orders, proposals, daily logs, messages, files, and photos.
  • Decisions you record: when you approve a selection, a change order, or a proposal, we record the decision, who made it, when, and (for change orders) the exact acceptance wording you were shown, so the project has an accurate record of what was agreed.
  • Contacts you add: details about your team members, trade partners, and clients that you choose to store in the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send through the Service (including email replies routed into project threads), feedback you send through the in-app feedback button, and any correspondence with our support team.

Information from connected third-party services

If you choose to connect an integration, we access data from that service only as needed to provide the related feature, and only with your authorization (which you can revoke at any time, see Section 9). See Section 7 for details on each integration, including QuickBooks.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data: log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, actions taken, and timestamps, recorded by our hosting providers and used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you signed in and remember preferences. See Section 12.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and operate the Service and its features.
  • To authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • To send transactional and service communications (for example notifications, invitations, and password resets).
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, reliability, and security.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. AI-assisted features

The Service includes an AI assistant and related features for builder teams. To provide these, relevant content you direct the assistant to work with, and documents a builder asks it to read (for example a bid PDF), may be processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, acting as our service provider. This content is used only to generate responses for you and is not used to train third-party foundation models. You control what you ask the assistant to do. The mobile apps do not include the AI assistant.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:

  • Within your organization and projects: content is visible to other participants according to the roles and per-message visibility controls in the Service (for example, a builder controls what a client or trade partner can see).
  • Service providers (sub-processors): vendors who process data on our behalf under contract:
    • Supabase: database, sign-in, and file storage.
    • Vercel: application hosting.
    • Postmark: transactional email, including email replies routed into project threads.
    • Anthropic: AI features for builder teams.
    • Expo, Apple Push Notification service, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): delivery of mobile push notifications.
    • GitHub: our internal tracker for reports sent through the in-app feedback button (the report text, your name, email, and organization, and the page you were on).
    • Open-Meteo: weather for daily logs. It receives only a project’s city and state, never a name or account detail.
    • The integration providers a builder chooses to connect: Intuit QuickBooks, Dropbox, CompanyCam, DocuSign, and PandaDoc.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Komvo, LLC, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. The BuilderLevel mobile apps

The BuilderLevel apps for iOS and Android let project participants (today, mainly homeowner clients) follow their project, message their builder, share photos and files, and make decisions. This section describes exactly what the apps collect.

What the apps collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and (if you add it) phone number. We use these to sign you in, show your builder who you are, and contact you about your account.
  • Content you choose to share: messages you send; photos you pick from your photo library; files you attach; inspiration images; your selection choices; and your change order and proposal decisions, including the acceptance wording you were shown and the time you accepted. This content goes to your builder’s project and is visible to the people your builder has added to it, according to the project’s visibility settings.
  • Push notification token: if you allow notifications, your phone gives the app a push token, a device address for notifications. We store it with your account and the platform (iOS or Android) so we can tell you about new messages, decisions waiting for you, and project updates. Notifications are sent through Expo’s push service, which passes them to Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). The token is deleted when you sign out of the app or delete your account, and you can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your phone’s settings.

What the apps do not do

  • They do not access your camera or microphone.
  • They do not access your location.
  • They read your photo library only for the photos you pick, when you pick them.
  • They contain no advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • They do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • They contain no analytics or crash-reporting software, so they do not collect usage analytics or crash and diagnostic data.
  • We do not sell any data collected through the apps.

The apps keep you signed in with a session token stored on your device. All data is sent over an encrypted connection.

7. Third-party integrations

Integrations are optional and connected by a builder through each provider’s secure authorization (OAuth) or an API key the builder provides. We store access tokens to maintain the connection and access only the data needed for the feature. A builder can disconnect any integration at any time in Settings, Integrations, which revokes our ongoing access.

Intuit QuickBooks

When you connect QuickBooks, BuilderLevel accesses your QuickBooks Online data solely to provide accounting features you request, for example reading your chart of accounts and vendors to align budget cost codes, and creating bills you initiate. We use this data only to provide those features to you. We do not sell QuickBooks data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it except with the sub-processors listed above as needed to operate the Service. QuickBooks data is retained only as long as your connection is active or as needed to provide the Service; disconnecting QuickBooks revokes BuilderLevel’s access.

Dropbox

When connected, BuilderLevel reads and writes files in the specific folders you link, to keep project files in sync. We access only the folders you designate.

CompanyCam

When connected, BuilderLevel imports job-site photos from the CompanyCam projects you link, to display them alongside the corresponding BuilderLevel project.

DocuSign and PandaDoc

When connected, BuilderLevel uses your own DocuSign or PandaDoc account to send documents (such as change orders and proposals) for electronic signature and to record their signed status. Signatures are processed by that provider under its own terms and privacy policy.

8. Data retention and account deletion

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

How to delete your account

  • In the mobile app: open More, then Delete account.
  • On the web: go to https://app.builderlevel.com/delete-account. If you are signed in you can request deletion there directly. If you cannot sign in, enter your email address there and our support team will follow up; for your protection, we only delete an account once its owner confirms by signing in.
  • By email: write to support@builderlevel.com from the address on your account.

If you are the only owner of a builder or trade partner company account, transfer ownership to a teammate or contact support@builderlevel.com before deleting your own account, so the company is not left without an owner. We process a deletion request 7 days after you make it. That window lets you change your mind: contact support@builderlevel.com before then to cancel. When the request is processed we send a confirmation email to the address that was on the account.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in, so the account can no longer be used.
  • Your name, email address, phone number, job title, and notification settings. Your profile is replaced with the name “Deleted user”.
  • Your push notification tokens.
  • Your AI assistant conversations and saved AI memories, if you had any.
  • Your email reply links and message read status.

What stays with the builder’s project

Messages, photos, files, and decisions you already shared on a builder’s project are part of that builder’s project records, and the builder is the controller of those records. They stay on the project so the builder keeps an accurate history (for example, of an approved change order), and they are shown as coming from “Deleted user” rather than your name. To ask for that content to be removed, contact the builder, or contact us and we will pass the request on. We also keep a minimal record that a deletion was requested and completed (an internal ID, dates, and status) so we can show we honored it. Copies held in our hosting providers’ routine backups are overwritten on their normal backup cycle.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access, update, or correct your account information in the Service or by contacting us.
  • Disconnect any integration at any time in Settings, revoking BuilderLevel’s access to that service.
  • Delete your account as described in Section 8.
  • Turn notifications and non-essential emails on or off in Settings, and push notifications in the app or your phone’s settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To exercise any right, contact us at support@builderlevel.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, role- and organization-based access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data location

The Service is operated in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

12. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use the Service to serve third-party advertising.

13. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, including children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at support@builderlevel.com and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date; material changes may be communicated through the Service.
